Detector(s) used
Nox 800, Etrac, F75, AT Pro. Last two for sale.
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
This was found my last hunt as a old park keeps giving up these beautys and I like wheat pennys. The actual worth according to my outdated Red book starts at .10 cents. The holy grail is the double die errors for this penny. Now I wish I never threw all my double die errors away. But I have many hobbys linked to my treasure hunting and metal detecting and photography is one of them. I had to shoot his on auto as I was checking out a new lense and actually found something noteworthy to shoot and post here. I am using the Nox 800 in park mode 2 with a low sensitivity so as not to dig aluminum bottle caps at 10 inches. I just dont get all the hype about the Nox 800, I really like my etrac better. But have misplaced my stock coil for the etrac so havent used it in awhile. Well pennys come up at 21-23 respectively. Zinc penny's ring up higher. Last good find was a gold ring so Nox does find them. I mostly hunt tot lots but have considered joining a club. Enjoy the picture of the not so expensive find. Weather is usually good here year round for hunting.

I like my etrac as well Rawhide. Haven't found much yet, but still like it. It tends to find even tiny metal objects.

Try the two screen method on the Etrac, I think it saves a lot of time digging unwanted targets. The Nox is always a good target but I wonder what I may be missing with it. I need some more time with the Nox.

Zinc cents should ring up lower than copper cents....usually 20-21 in good ground when they're not corroded. My Etrac hasn't gotten much use once I got used to the Nox! I do like the numbering/I.D. system better on the Etrac however. Where do you live? Maybe you're close enough to join our club here in San Diego.

Excellent quality photo

Amazingly clean dug cent.

I thought the Double Die was a 1955?

I always heard some people had more money than sense, or was that cents. Nice old copper.

That is a great picture. I was able to zoom in all the way, and it was still crisp. I like wheats also.

Nice job on the Wheat.
