How about someone trying to sell 1964 kennedy half dollars for $75 each at a flea market.

Lol, for a minute there it was like playing where's waldo then I spotted the shield!

Lol! I bet he's not getting the best of business at the moment ;D
Thanks for the Laughs,
Wicka

Not all that unheard of. I went to a garage sale and bought a set of Kennedies in some sort of "collector's box" with 1 coin from 1964-1994 for $20 for the entire lot (well under melt!) when I took it home and started popping off the plastic capsules the coins were in I discovered a receipt back from 1994, it seemed like the person before me had paid $150 for it on some home shopping TV network! All the way back in 1994!

There is another shield below the shiny one.

90% of those look to be zinc

Sag - you do realize that the mint produced the Log Cabin cent in the original copper composition as the 1909 cent? I agree with the premise, though, that the seller salted the picture with zincolns.

Just in case no one checked the link, this is what he is advertising:

"LOT OF 10,000 REAL 95% COPPER PENNIES. APPROX. 68 LBS. THESE ARE ALL PRE 1982 AND HAVE BEEN SORTED TWO TIMES THROUGH A RYEDALE PENNY SORTING MACHINE. PRICE IS $130.00 PER LOT. HAVE MORE THAN ONE LOT FOR SALE."

Third time's the charm...LoL. Yeah, I'd agree that his Ryedale's is Oinked!

I am aware of that, but it just didn't look like copper. After all, I got the 2009 proof set for a friend before.

the lot comes with the extra rare new shield pennies too!
