I recently went out to hunt for the first time since my first detector arrived the other day. I went to our family owned farm to try it out for the first time. As you can see I didn't really find anything to bring home or to write home about. lol. I did find my first coin! That was a really meaningful milestone for me even if it was just a plain Lincoln cent and even if it was laying right on top of the ground !
Anyway I guess I'm just not geologist or something but could anyone explain why or how the latch that i dug was about 8"-10" deep however it seemed like there was a thick layer of creek type rock that just didn't belong in that hole, that i had to go through to get to this latch type device. And also does anyone think that this latch looks like it might have come off an old steamer trunk or What? Don't get me wrong I know I am going back tommorow weather permitting to hunt some more I really love doing this, just would like to find something more than beer cans and such..
Thanks for any comments and good luck!!!!!!
