So, this is my first post on this forum, so I may as well start out with a little intro,

Back at my first job when I was 16, I worked at a VERY busy mcdonalds in Sarasota FL, everyone who worked there knew I was into any kind of odd currency, and I would pay em back for it if found.

I didnt collect for the profit in it, I just collected to see what I could find in the wild. This photo is what I found at mcdonalds during a 3 year stint of working there in the early 2000's. I totally forgot this little time capsule of a collection was in my safe :)

I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard sparkfly88! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). You might also consider adding your state (or country) to your displayed profile (SETTINGS -> EDIT PROFILE) so if you ask a question, etc. - members may have more success helping you (your location may help, etc.)...

I'm working on my profile right now actually ;)

Welcome to Tnet you got some nice coins and bills there

Ah. The early and mid 2000’s. The good times before smartphones, social media, online beggars, and picked over coins in circulation.

Very nice collection. Save it, cherish it, and show it to your kids. It’s near impossible to find stuff like that in circulation now.

Oddly up here in Canada I have noticed a bit of an increase in good coins in circulation lately. I have been finding some silver in my change. I recently got a 50% 1968 silver dime. I also got an older silver quarter. The best thing that happened was when I was about to pay for a purchase. The teller opened a roll of dimes and said something like "why would anyone even roll coins this disgusting?" I asked to see them. I bought an entire roll of silver dimes for face value. I think your average person has no idea what a silver coin looks like.

I discovered the silver coins by sound.in the hustle of fast food I'd give my handful of change I was handed a shake, and instantly spot something out of the ordinary.

At first I thought the silver quarters were fakes

what some people will give up for a ....BIG MAC...

Right?! When I got that 1 Oz silver I was like HECK YES into the pocket it goes.

Nice finds and welcome to TNet. Any mintmark on the 1894 Barber Qtr? Still a $10 qtr. Also, nice looking Booker T. Many will search their entire careers and never find a classic commem.

Nice! There’s lots of old coin and silver still in circulation - I get almost a dozen wheats each year. Of course, you have to pay cash to get change, that’s what i love about cash!

My teenager has found six silver dimes, two buffalo, and over twenty wheats working the Taco Bell drive thru in eight months. He’s not even a coin nerd!

Welcome first of all to the TN. I hope you enjoy our company and help where and when needed. Very nice assortment of older coins. What especially jumped out at me was the SLQ, haven't heard or seen a post of a SLQ in years. Congrats, and another welcome.

Welcome to the forum! :occasion14:

A very nice collection you have to display!

so hard to find in circulation these days it's a numbers game. Getting change back over the last 8 years or so I have found a ton of common wheats but only two silver dimes. nice standing liberty
