I got out saturday for about an hour to get the feel for the new pro coil and found alittle over a dollar ;D not much but was nice to get out , sunday my buddy called an wanted to go for awhile over at the same place i went saturday and i said yes ! we talked for awhile and he showed me the ring he found yesterday which looks like its got 2 tigar eyes and 3 little stones in it , no markings inside ,looks gold colored and he said it came up as a nickle :) so we got to hunting and it seemed the coins was few , I was detecting around a big tree and got a zinc penny signal about 2 inches down and thought oh well . I'll dig it, should have seen my eyes when i pulled out this ring :o the ring has a big rock in it and the pics seem to make it look blue but its not , it seems mostly white but has a slight pink tint to it and i mean very slight , probably not a diamond but sure is pretty ! the ring is 925 on one side and has NF on the other side , the style looks old to me but what do i know ::) thanks for looking ! and any info on the ring would be appreciated

First of all, Weasel, congratulations on your ring find. It's a nice keeper if ever there was one. Secondly.. Where in the hell in West By God Virginia are you located? I've not seen that much flat ground in WV as I saw in your pictures of this latest hunt! <laughing> My wife is from WV, Huntington Cabel county mostly, and I've been there many times both while a'courtin' and after we had wed to visit inlaws. Most of what I recollect from the Wild and Wonderful State is a lot of UP and DOWN and even more GOING up or GOING down at a slightly less than straight angle. <grin> It's enough to make a mountain boy weep for joy. Unfortunately I grew up in the somewhat less "inclined" rolling hills of the Blue Grass state of Kentucky, Central Kentucky to be exact. Oh sure, we have hills, but they are not so much vertical as the majority of topography.
All kidding aside, WV is a beautiful state and there's not a thing wrong with a little vertical topography, although I'm sure it can add to the "challenges" of metal detecting. Then again.. if you get a target, you can just walk a step or two down'hill and turn around and dig.. without having to bend down to your knees or anything. <giggle> Just make sure the ground is dry.. or you'll be slip slidin' away more than you're recovering treasures from the ground. Been there, Done that!
Again.. congratulations on your recent ring find. Even if the stone is paste or glass or CZ (Cubic Zirconium), it's still a keeper! Keep Hunting!
