I was able to snag a 1/2 reale at the last minute. It was both a lucky and a surprise find. After finding virtually nothing in 3 hours of hunting, I was quickly making my long trek back to the truck swinging fast as I went. Was getting a hit every couple hundred feet or so, and these were mostly junk. As I was getting close to the truck I got a decent mid-range hit, and after struggling trying to find the target in the dirt, I saw what appeared to be a silver gilted button. I flipped it over to see if it had a shank. It didn't, but instead had a nice-looking pair of pillars. That's exactly how I found the 13th Regiment of Foot button last Monday at the same site - swinging very fast on the way back to the truck. Anyway, looks like I saved the day with that find.
