I will receive a certificate with all the info but he did tell what he could and the bird was banded on 7/9/06 in NC. It's pretty big so I am hoping for either an eagle or osprey.

IH date ? Pewter flattie and odds and ends. Sure was nice today with 60 degree weather but here's tomorrow in Suffolk, VA.....

Super find, Ina! :) That's going to be neat to get a certificate with all the info for it!
Stay warm,
Nana
:hello:

That's neat! Be sure to post the certificate , too!

Nice bird band Ina. I found one last year and was able to look up all the info on it. If I remember correctly mine was from a pigeon. BTW - that button of yours looks like a tombac, not pewter.

It would be cool if it was an eagle! That certificate is going to look good among your finds!

What is that hat looking thing on the bottom of the first picture? Does anyone know? I found something similar to it last year. I think mine was made of copper.

I found a bird band once, still on the leg of the pelican, buried 6-8" down in the sand on a beach. I just re-buried it.

That 'Hat' looking thing appears to be a drawer pull or knob of some sort... ?

The band is cool,I would think that would be a pretty unusual find.

Very cool--- the possibilities are endless at this hobby !!!
