Been looking through alot of nickles lately. So here is the #s over 5 buys at 10 rolls each . have not seen a single 2009 p . I have got 1 2009 d in change . any one know why ? Thank in advance

Easy answer. 2009 was the lowest mintage of "nickles" (Sic) since 1955. Many were saved and hoarded immediately when they came out. So they are tough to find. Very tough.

2010 was not the same, so no need to save those, but I save every 2009 nickel (correct spelling) and dime I find. I recommend others do it too. Keep looking. And save any if you see them. Good luck to you. :-)

I have been saving my 2009 nickels. I think I have only found 2-3 and they were well circulated.

I haven't seen a 2009 yet. I've searched about 15 boxes of nickels since they were released in Sept '09.

I haven't found any 2009 nickels at all yet, but the 2009 dimes are popping up EVERYWHERE. I get them in change all the time, and it seems like every roll of dimes has at least one. I have been saving them but now I'm starting to wonder if it's worth it?

I did a box over Christmas and found (3) 2009. (38) 2010 and a 1916 buff, (no war nics)
Legend

I have been seeing one every few boxes. I don't save them but do check dates and I'd estimate about 1 every 100 rolls.

I'm laying off Nickels for a while, my last 4 boxes were all skunks. (aside from some cool-ish pre-59's) No Buffalos, no silver wars, and no 2009's.
