It looks like rows of stacked or rolled hay bales.

Of course that's a crappy picture... meaning fuzzy.

I'm seeing chicken houses (the long rectangular shapes). But then again I may not be getting a good reference for scale out of it.

If those are hay bales and I am not saying they aren't, they are the straightest
stacked hay bales I have ever seen, every row perfectly straight and perfectly
parallel to the others.

Did they have rolled bales in the 40's?

Definitely a lot of human activity there at one time, go for it!

Could also be stacks of lumber set out to dry. Going by the turn around drive...
But this is like looking only at a nose and trying to tell who the person is.

oh I'm in Delaware,this is along the bay off Rt9 right by a town called Dobbinsville in New Castle also across from an old time/still exists Beach called Deemers Beach,i'm not sophisicated enough for Coordinates <sp?>
its just a small patch of woods today right before a road called Llangollen blvd too,walked through it today didnt see much but leaves and a Deer,lots of indentations..gonna bring it up at next local meeting too maybe get a small group in there...but if anyone got better research find out wha it is!

Is the woods you are referring to just north of the intersection of Llangolen Blvd. and River Rd. on the west side of River Rd? --maybe south of the houses on that side of the street?
