Judging by all the lead I'm pulling out of this cornfield, I'm just not sure I wanta eat corn again. At least, from there.

Found the key, now I need to find the chest.





There was only one coin/disc today. But, I haven't a clue. It appears to be copper, seems pretty thin, weighs 3.01 grams, and you can see the size. At first, I thought it was a button with the stem broken off and I suppose it still could be. As far as I can tell so far, there doesn't seem to be anywhere that shows a former stem attached.







I'm going to attempt to get more detail but right now, feel free to guess.

Wow, lotsa coppers! I think I would be less worried about the mineral content and more concerned about what's in the corn itself.

The Key you found is VERY nice. Is that Bronze? I like Keys and this one would be enough to make the hunt worthwile for me.

I would expect brass/bronze for the key and yep, it made the hunt for me too. Even though I tend toward coins and I did get what might be a toasted copper coin. The key was a VERY pleasant surprise.

Dont worry, Pb rarely accumulates in plants. You are at much higher rich by pulling Pb out of the ground. There are thousands of poisons you put into your body without even knowing it. Ya know, guys. I just gotta say something. I've put in a WHOLE LOT of hours swinging my detectors in my life. (I mean a whole lot!!). Along the way I have gotten some WONDERFUL finds!!! I appreciate EVERY SINGLE one of them. But, as some here know, I am a coinshooter at heart. Here, I have FINALLY uncovered what may very well be my best find of a lifetime and I can't even say what it is because I don't know!!! !!!

I tell ya, it just ain't fair!!!!

There! Now I feel better.

I'm going to post this coin up on the What Is It forum and hopefully the coin experts there might be able to tell me something. Just thought you'd wanta know. Will be a few more pics there too.
