found it on a Lake Michigan beach in SE Wisconsin a couple nights ago, yes, enough ice/snow is gone to get back out there. bright orange fluorescence under long wave and duller orange under short wave uv (photo in LW). It looks like a carbonate rock but has a hardness of over 7, have not done acid test yet.

update, it has no reaction to dilute HCL....

Looks kinda like chalcedony.

I think that is possible, other chert's and chalcedony I have found also fluoresce a dull yellow/brownish orange color, just no where near this vibrant or bright. Although in normal light this one looks unlike the other cherts/chalcedony...interesting
