Not today, but Sunday's finds in the woods below my house.....

Managed to find another bird band, not sure what it was on but figure I'll give the game commission an email to see if they are of assistance.

Here is the rest of the stuff I found. Couple cartridges, one unfired, the usual shotgun shell remnants that always seem to jump in front of my detector, some whatsits, some junk and what appears to be the lid to an ink jar. It has a little ball on top that looks like one of those ball-link chain things.

put the bird band on Ebay.......

Oh yea? they collectible? Think I have two or three more in the basement.

Cool on the Band !
All I find are Pigeon Bands & Fighting Rooster Bands.

is it big enough for Turkeys ?

Cool bird band. I have a few from when I was big into water fowl hunting, it was always cool to call them in and get the info back on the bird. I would love to dig one, congrats on a cool find.

Thanks Frost, Jeff it could fit a turkey leg. That's what I was thinking it may be for.

Being a Pittsburgh native I can at least narrow down the time frame on your band. Between 1891 and 1911 Pittsburgh was spelled without the "h".

That actually says Harrisburg. Tough to see in the picture due to the angle.
