Note to self

Don't be freaked unless the doggie is still attached...

I found an old one with a 5 digit phone number last week.

I found this one on Tuesday at an old house. 2013-06-04 06.22.48.webp

That looks really old! The ones we found were I think aluminum. The one with the pets name was pink. We've been here 13 years so it is at least that old.

Mine is dated 1964. From what I can find, that vet was in practice for around 45 years, and retired sometime in the 90s. Don't know if he is still living or not.

I recently found 1919 Patrick County Male dog license. Really cool!

My 1st post ever on here and I'm going to talk about dogs! Ha! Go figure. Since having worked around vets, humane societies, etc. for many years (years ago though) and having been an antique dealer for about 20+ yrs. I have a few things to add. 1.) If there was no collar attached to the tag you can be sure that there's no dog in the ground. Oh, and every place I worked for cremated the dogs or had their bodies picked up for cremation elsewhere. On the plus side though, as an antique dealer I've sold many old dog tags. Yes, there's a collector for everything and many people collect old dog tags. The older the better. So dig them tags!
