Actual dimensions are 1" X 1 1/2 ". Detector could not decide between 50 cent or a dollar, but at a 6" + deep reading, there was no way I was NOT digging it up. ( I actually thought it was going to turn out to be another zinc mason jar lid. Glad I guessed wrong )
