Now I'm a believer!!! Hoosier Spanish!!!

IMG_20160131_140208589.webpHey all, beautiful weather today so I headed to a new homesite that I just got the go ahead for. The new 15" coil made short work of finding the site in the 40ac field. After switching coils took 3 steps and got a nice signal, turned out to be canslaw. Took 3 more steps and got the same signal, almost didn't dig it. GLAD I DID.. Got 2 first in 1 coin, my 1st Spanish silver and my 1st 1700's coin!!!!!! It's a 1789 half reale!!! Also got a 65' injun and half dozen buttons. Needless to say this WILL get me threw the rest of winter.. COME ON SPRING!!!!! HH...

Nice finds! Thanks for sharing...

Congrats on your first Spanish. I'm sure there is more to be found on those older Indiana house sites.

Nice score !

Congrats on the injun and old silver nice finds

Congrats on your first Spanish Silver. They are around the Midwest, as my hunting partner & myself have dug 5 of them here in Illinois over the last 3 years. The more you hunt, the better your odds are of getting another one.

Huge congrats! That's a great feat in Illinois, you must have found an early settler's house! :)

Good score on the Spanish silver.

Regards + HH

Great Find fishstick. You must be somewhere in Southern Indiana, because up north here, the county was only settled in the 1830's. Unless I can find something from the Lasalle expedition. Man you must have been stoked.

Let me know if you would like to detect up north sometime or for that matter would like to detect down south sometime. I have been researching a lot of sites with the darn ground being frozen. Did manage to get out yesterday and dug a couple of silver dimes including 1890 seated in great condition, possibly AU. See my post on new finds.
