When I was younger in the pre-clad coin era I found a 21D half in change, my post silver favorite was a shield nickel with rays that came in change from a coke machine back in the 90's.

I found a small zip lock baggie containing war nickels at a local landfill. Bag had fallen out of a kids desk.
I received a 1936 Buffalo nickel in change at Home Depot last year.
Peace ✌

This year a nice 1885 I.H. It might not be a whoop-de-doo in the U.S. But I found it far up north at the edge of the Boreal forest. And a couple of Barber dimes up here, the 03 is crisp.

Wheaties have about dried up - but then I don't get the pocket change I used to.

About two years ago I had a 1932 Washington quarter in my change. Still occasionally find a War Nickel. Been a long time since I spotted a Mercury dime, but I have a good store of those and Buffalo nickels I kept from my paper route.

Got a 1959 Franklin half in my change in 2010 or thereabouts. That's probably my best remotely recently.

I ALWAYS check my change. It's been probably 5 years since I've found silver.

About 18 months ago I did find a legible 1920 Buffalo.

I sort cents by pre-1982 and save them due to copper content. In the two years I've been doing that, I've found 13 Wheats.

Slim pickings and rare, alas......
