Ocean Shores or Fort Canby

I want to go metal detecting with my V3i and have a little mini vacation with wife, I want to go to either ocean shores or Astoria or stay in Wa. and hit up Fort Canby and cape disappointment I think it is called? Does anyone have any good advice for noobie md of where to go..

1st - I noticed this is your very first post. So, welcome aboard from the great state of Pennsylvania (USA).

2nd - If you haven't already - you might consider browsing Sub-Forums: Washington for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state.

3rd - I am sure someone will pipe in shortly with a few suggestions 0lllll0.

Ocean Shores might be good. Be careful going north of Moclips though, most of that area is Indian Reservation and Md'ing is definitely off limits there. Washington State parks has a great link for parks that are open to the hobby http://www.metaldetectwa.org/parksrecreation.asp also check the puget sound treasure hunters club website. They meet the third Thursday of each month in Lakewood. I am down in the Olympia area.
