Headed out EARLY today to catch low tide at the oceanfront and the looters were everywhere! There must have been a dozen or more on the beach. Ran into several that I knew (or knew me from Max's videos) and it seemed that most everyone was finding lots of clad but no real tickets. After a long walk up and back, I concentrated on a small cut and got a few targets (most were high to mid slope) and that was where I pulled the cross. Marked (and tested) 14k, 3.4 grams and looks to have opal inlays. Nice little find!
After working that spot for a while, with not much more to show for it, I moved on over to the Bay and did some hunting over there as well. Less clad but ALOT of junk and iron targets. Still getting the hang of using the CTX in the iron patches but I'm sure it will come in time. I found the ring at the low tide line in the water but pretty sure it's stainless steel or tungsten though it has no marks. It rang up in the 12.10 range in the TID and had a nice sound but it's still a ring. Max swung by to look at it and came to the same conclusions. Hopefully the next one will be gold! 2.5 hours at the Ocean Front and another 3 hours on the Bay. After gear cleaning and checking all the finds, a soak in the hot tub was just what was needed. Thanks for looking!
