Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
So i found this object when i was hunting my friends yard for coins, which there was about 200 coins in his small yard..... but anyways i was digging up a penny and this object comes out of the soil looking just the way it does now, never cleaned it!... Got my penny and continued onward. The Loop/Half Circle will not pick up on my ace 250 metal detector nor my Garrett pro pin-pointer.. Doesn't recognize its a metal object !!?? weird right... Anyways i got a precious metal test kit with 10k,14k,18k,22k Gold test acid.. as well as silver and platinum. Mainly bought it just for the silver ,, ill never find any gold.. Anyways i rubbed the loop on the test rock and tested it with all the acids.... everyone of them... the 22k gold acid melted the metal and it turned green really fast.. None of the other acids did anything to it.. What could this thing be.... I took several pictures as i was testing it.. Have a Look...

I tested Aluminum with all the acids too.. None of them did anything to aluminum

not certain, but it might be half of a hematite ring.....I don't know how it acts when acid tested, someone should though.....

Could it be bronze?

its silver in color ,, it also has this lip on the edge of it... i dont think its a ring

Could it be from like a wine bottle top guessing from the pic related to the quarter.

idk... i hope someone knows what turns green instantly from a 22k gold acid test but any other acid doesn't effect it

See if it is magnetic. It looks like the metal ring from a twist off top. Usually those are aluminum alloys with zinc & tin.

Not Saying it is, but I have been finding alot of rings lately, and I noticed that ive found a few rings that turned out to be Stainless Steel,

But you say it doesnt register at all on the ACE?...Most mine have been the Quarter/Dime/Penny signals...Interesting thou

Good Luck!

Is your ACE in any type of discrim mode? Might affect it being picked up.

Stainless...hit by lawn mower. Most likely.

I thought titanium too but I just tested my cell phone holder ( yes its titanium but I'll never break another phone) and it doesn't react at all to the gold test kit. I don't have a clue what it could be except maybe 18k gold. Titanium will also give off pretty white sparks if you hit it with a grinder.
