Off Center Nickel & Question About A Penny

I found this nickel this week, looks like it might be a broadstrike. Is this a common error or something that occurs quite often?

Does the mint mark on the penny look normal or is it a possible die that had grease?

Re: Off Center Nickel & Question About A Penny

To me the nickle looks like maybe an off center strike and the penny mintmark looks normal with maybe some wear on the side.

nice broadstrike nickel. that is a keeper! the cent just looks like an ordingary cent. i see lots of copper cents with mintmarks like that.

That's an off-center all right (about 5%), great find PW. The 79-D looks normal to me too, unless the D is filled in, even partly, which would be a die chip error.
