I have been thinking with the beautiful scenery you and Tamrock post, there was a photo in each of the 360 degrees!

Looks like a nice day for a drive. I'm not sure what they dug out of that hole on Poncha Pass? Buy the size of the tailings it doesn't look like much.

After a little research, it was probably somethin to do with tungsten and secondarily fluorspar, as that's the main deposits in the Poncha Pass area. That pic of the concrete foundation is near Hecla Junction, where they mined a lot of fluorite. Noticed a new claim marker at that site, put up by Gold Rush Expeditions. This company obtains claims and sells them to the public. Checkin their website, near as I can tell they advertised this one as a fluorite and silver producer and it's been sold.2-21f.webp

A more lucrative way is to form a mining company and look for investors, but have proven reserves to show them. Buy a small amount of mining equipment to show the investors your on with the plan. You then give each principal of your mining company a quarter million dollar a year salary and milk the investors as long as you can. When the investor grow impatient with no return and are no longer willing to invest anymore in to the operation, you then go bankrupt and head back to Canada with the savings you put away with the large salaries you shucked out to each of your partners. Hopefully you get at least 3 to 4 years out of this failed venture and leave all the equipment behind and let the creditors deal with that.
