I got it in change. it is a 1983p kennedy half dollar, on the face side you can see that the die struck off center because the ridge on the edge is not completely on the edge there is a lip on the one side and the ridge on the other side is thin. might this be worth something?

Howdy, If your coin missed hitting on both sides of the coin at the same place it is offstruck. The amount missed determines the value. The more the better. Additionally if you can see the date that's better. If the part missed is only on one side the error is called "misaligned dies". These are neat but have less vale than the offstruck. exanimo, ss

Heres a pic of an offcenter Kennedy half I found in my wifes change. Not far offcenter but you can see where the ridge is missing around the edge. Also a pic of a normal one for comparison.

sorry just face value! a lot of coins are struck like that!

I agree with Joey... it is not off center enough to be worth anything more than face value. Just as a conversation piece. its is maybe 2% off-center....would need to be at least 5% to be worth additional and at 5% it would not be worth much. Sorry :-(

I agree. That coin is worth 50?.

Now if you had an off center coin like this one it would be worth something ...
