Detector(s) used
E-trac, Excal, ACE 250 for my son
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Took the excal II out to the bay this morning for a quick hunt before the oppressive heat sets in. I was out for about an hour and a half then it happened. I was in about waist deep salt water and every swing seemed to register a sound. I brought the coil out of the water and waved it in the air and same thing. Is this what is called falsing? Should I send it in? If so what is the best way to do this? Please help.

PD

If your detector has a coil cover make sure it is cleaned or if it has a factory reset try that :icon_scratch:

Reduce your sensitivity to about 6 or so.

thanks going to give these a try.

The others nailed it. Reducing sens and the clean coil cover are the reasons for most falsings.

What was your sensitivity set at, it sounds like you had it set way too high (hot) was it by chance on auto..........? Adjust your sensitivity till it is stable, what good is an unstable detector? Don't be afraid to adjust it down, you will lose very little depth.....
