I have a question on pennies.I collect mainly halves for the silver and because they're so darn beautiful but I have noticed I have alot of pennies sitting around the house.I know wheat pennies are ones you want to pull to the side but are there any other ones I need to hold onto?Any ones before a date I need to hold onto?I have been coin roll hunting for a few years but just recently have gained more interest in other types of coins other than Pre-64 and halves and ww2 nickles.I love this hobby and I want to preserve any coins that I can pass down to my kids. Thanks for your help.

A lot of us on here save all of the pre-1982 copper pennies. There are also a lot of errors.

I sell the copper pennies and buy silver with the profits.

Who do you sell the coins to,or how do you go about selling the copper pennies?

I sell mine to the local coin shop. I get 2x face at this time.

On the 1982s, you will have to weigh them to determine which ones are copper and which ones are zincs. I picked up a nice jewelry scale online for less than 20 bucks.
