Ohio Dovetails

I've been going through some points lately trying to recall what I remember about them. I wrote on them but years later it's hard to read. These are 2 Dovetails from Ohio. Both are good candidates for restoration but I'll leave them this way. The larger one, a little over 4 inches was found on the Martin Bauer farm in Scioto County. It looks like a material found in Kentucky which is just across the Ohio River.
The smaller one was found by my brother on the Kuhn farm in Coshocton County. It is Flintridge.

I made the mistake a few years ago by restoring a nice large wadlow blade by reworking the tip and later found the missing section!! Never did it again.

They were found in tilled farm fields so probably damaged by machinery. It was pure luck they were not damaged much more.

They sure are nice damaged or not. I’d love to find a dovetail some day

I would do as you said and keep them as found.
