OK coin guru's...What the heck is this????

Was out chipping through the half frozen soil today in an attempt to do some detecting when I dug up this wierd coin? Anybody know what it is? Its the size of a half dollar and all copper

Also called the Irish Lucky Penny since most were melted down for their copper content (6M minted in 1966). Those that survived the meltdown are today called Lucky Pennies. Hen with chicks represents the agricultural culture of Ireland; coins of other denominations had other animals.
