Thanks guys, can anyone tell me what the coin in picture 3 is I thought it might be a George ii half penny and the one with the hole in the middle I thinking its part of a button but not sure

The coin in the third pic is a William III halfpenny.

Nice finds Chevyfan2k9. Thanks for sharing...

That's amazing, you found allot of old coins, I would love to find coins like that.

Wow, that's impressive

The soil was kind to those coins. very little corrosion. none of the ugly green at all.
I mean there's pretty green and there's ugly green, and you got none, well done!

I'll bet digging all that silver was a blast!

What a great collection of coins, Jack! Were these metal detector finds?

Nice that means it maybe a 1600's coin, the back is completely worn no details at all, thanks for the info

Yes, the older coins were found on my wife's uncles farm, the 2 large cents were found in a old park, I have a another George ii half penny and another large cent soaking so I post those later today, I know for a fact I missed a lot on her uncles farm with the detector I was using (bounty hunter lone star) so next time I am going to bring my garrett 350 and see what else is there and hopefully get some more silver :)

The coin in the third pic is a William III halfpenny.

By comparing where the Ribbon location and the bust of William, you can rule out a 1694 W&M and also rule out it being a Type 3 Obverse, which means it dates from 1695-99, so it is a coin from the 1600s.
It could have been a 1700 or 1701 if it was Type 3 which has a different Obverse than Type 1 & 2.

Super collection of old silver! Congrats! :occasion14:

What do you soak them in? Could you describe the process for me please?

I just use hydrogen oxide solution, the stuff you use to clean wounds I don't soak them to long you want to leave some patina
