Unfortunately, these jokes are appreciated but boy are they wearing! I'm gonna have a heart attack yet! ;)

The "gold ring" was a gold plated something or other.

The gold colored button appears to be a current button.

The other stuff? Well, they were fair to middlin' signals. Unable to ignore. I've seen these things before but can't place what they are. Did get a 56 wheatie so, that's something, I guess. ;) :dontknow:

sounds like the Pro is making you dig everything keep at it soon all the trash will be gone

Is your at pro falsing?

Naw, this machine has really been awesome so far. Both the ones I tested before and now this new one of my own. I am just digging most everything for a while. Until I feel more comfortable with discriminating.

The one thing that truly impresses me is how well this this thing separates out junk from good that are in the same hole! It's taking a bit of learning but I have already proven, (to me), that it's a deep machine too. Especially if there is more than one item in the hole. It's surprisingly deep on coins that are alone. But, I can see it's going to take a bit of ear training to get good at picking them out. I've already pulled a WLH from about 10 inches with my buddy's machine. AND, that was in ground that balanced at 91!!

It's just that it finds these pieces that look like something really, really good in the hole at first glance. My heart skips a beat! LOL

Well, not really "making" me. I'm getting pretty good at calling the shot before I dig. But, like you said, I'm pretty much digging everything. At least for a while.

One thing I'm not sure about though is the ground balancing. I know my ground is pretty mineralized. But, isn't 91 a bit high for a normal ground balance? :dontknow:

golden ring thing looks like a watch bezel

That was pretty much my guess too. But, it "could have" been the bezel off a solid gold watch. Couldn't it?!?!? :(

LOL

It looked like a huge gold ring when I first uncovered the hole. :)

Your right about the AT pro, it's a great machine. I only run mine without any discriminate and use my ears to separate targets. The reason is that it lets you Hear all the targets in the ground and has a super fast recovery rate. In extreme trash areas I just slow down my swing speed to better seperate. The more disc the slower the recovery time between targets and it can also cancel out good target that are close to ferrous targets. Just my preferences. Good luck:-)

Oh I agree. I was able to tell you what was in the ground before I dug about 85 percent of the time with my Groundhog! I also could hear signals that others could not, even thru the same earphones. Something about the frequencies Garrett uses.

The AT-PRO has an excellent discrimination system and in all honesty, it's part of why I chose it; time has GOT to be a factor in my hunts nowadays. Although I can pretty much tell from the VDI what I want to dig, sometimes, I just plain get too tired digging all the signals. The hobby gets to be work, instead of play and THAT is NOT why I'm out there.

I'm still figuring out the ground balancing at 89-92 in most places. But even with that, this thing will STILL pluck a quarter at 6-8 inches very easily. I don't expect to have many problems finding coins. More like finding places where I have a decent chance at old coins as this is what makes me happy. Sure, I'll miss some stuff but that's ok. Just means there's more for you. ;)
