old ajax pendant, anyone see this before?

Ajax was a thoroughbred race horse that had quite a prolific career. Problem is, apparently there were two that shared the name Ajax. One was racing during the time period after 1904 and the other around the 40s. You choose. I would have gotten over excited as it was dug for at first it looks like some old Roman coin. Nice find

It's modern. The letter "J" was not used prior to the sixteenth century.
