Old Amber Bottle ?

I got this bottle at a yard sell and I can not find any history on it it stands about 6 inches tall and is about 5 inches across the base looks like it was made in a 3 piece mold it has a seam around the base and a seam up both sides that stop just under the lip. The emblem on it is a circle 1 inch in dia. with what could be 3 wheat or rye stalks any information would be much appreciated. Thanks

rookie1 this is not a valuable antique bottle because first of all it's not antique. This is new but it looks good, 3 to 5 beans in the local antique shop, maybe a bit more if the economy picks up, which should happen I say about anytime after 2012.

'Gleaner1' is correct about your bottle. (I hope he's overly pessimistic about the economy, though!)

If the horizontal mold-seam is on or near the base, this bottle was not blown in a three-piece mold. By convention, the bottom of the mold (the "cup" or the "post") is not counted as a mold piece. This bottle then would be from a "two-piece" mold.

A three-piece mold, again by convention, would have the horizontal mold-seam around the shoulder of the bottle with two vertical seams arising from that.

Thanks for the information I'm not really concern about the value. I'm a novice bottle collector and have a small collection of around 50 bottles. I seen the bottle at a yard sell with some dryed flowers in it and bought it for pennys. I was just wondering what it may have contained and the age. Thanks Again

rookie, good question about what these held. I don't have a clue. If I had to guess I would say booze, but that is a wild guess. I say this was made in the last 20 years or so. I have a light purple one just like yours. Harry, when, (not if), the economy picks up, (hopefully before 2012), I will sell it for a mild profit. Hey Harry, these remind me of Wheaton pieces, but there are no markings indicating this. What do you know? Do you know what they held? Are they decorative pieces that were sold empty?

My guess is that these bottles are decorative . . . knick-knack or bric-a-brac.

This is as close as I have here. This is an orange figural, a French liqueur bottle, probably for Curacao or some other orange liqueur. I have seen another of these for sale with the leaves painted, so it is almost certainly original.
