It looks like a Gin bottle to me. :icon_scratch:
Nice find and in good condition too! :icon_thumright:
I'd date it to the early 1800's.

Definitly a "Case Gin" but judging by the pic of the neck,it would date more to the late 1800s. The lip is tooled ,not applied. Nice find :icon_thumleft:

Agreed, early to mid 19th century. Blow-molded black glass gin bottle. Square bottles packed easily in boxes for transport. To this day, gin bottles are usually square.

dutch and brits both were heavy gin drinkers * (still are )-- gin and tonic and a bit of lime was a long time tropical favorite "health drink" -- local water was often germ tainted * and could cause illness if drank straight ----so they drank gin tonic water and lime ---- the alcohol in the GIN killed the germs as did the acidic juice of the LIME as well , the tonic had quinene in it to help fight off malaria and prevent cramps as well (due to tropical heat muscle cramps were quite common) ---plus the booze helped the colonial master's unwind after a long day of dealing with the locals. -- square black glass "case gin" bottle --1800's as said befiore.

AWESOME find my friend, if it was me I would wash it up, get a stopper then fill it up and use it!!!
