Still has a rusted chain attached, makes me wonder if it got cut off a box of goodies! Found this at the new honey hole. Only find worth keeping today. No rivets strangely enough. Very small but very dense/solid. Can’t find any markings on it- Any guesses?

I soak my locks in White Vinegar they come out real nice after 24 hours or so

Based on the design and construction, I'm thinking your lock dates from the 1920s or 30s. :icon_scratch:
Nice find.

I might add these were BRASS Not iron locks I tried a iron one in the solution and it ate it up

The brass lock even had a cover for the key. It slides like it was new, I do not remember how long the iron one in the picture was in for but you can see it was pretty well ate u. Just be careful AND KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON THEM WHEN SOAKING IF YOU TRY

I think I found one like yours, measurements of yours will confirm if it's the same, look at lock #5196 about midway down at this link.

Click on the photo and it will enlarge it in another window.

You could maybe contact that website to possibly find out.

At the bottom of the home page it has a "contact" link to email them.

I can't say enough times keep an eye on the lock every hour or so. You do not want it destroyed
