Old buckle and I'll let you be the judge!!!

Still at the old community ctr.....nice and close.Have no idea on the age but I'll take it.Found this other piece 2 day's ago,thought it was a ring for a pick axe or something.Not the case,not sure if it's a braclet or what?......Is there such a name?Thank's for looking,very strange piece.....HH!!

I have found several similar buckles, but haven't noticed any markings. This is very cool.

What are the dimensions of the "bracelet" thingy? It looks too small to be a bracelet - but I'm basing that on the last photo (is that your palm or your fingers in that photo?).

Maybe a napkin ring? I say that because I dug a big hunking silver one out of a yard years ago... showed it to the very old lady who lived in the house and she said her family had formal hunt breakfasts set up in the yard for many years. Well, that is what it reminds me of anyway. For the record, I gave it back to her... since it was silver and monogrammed and all... bad karma to keep something like that since it belonged to the owner...

I would agree that "napkin ring" seems likely. Also, considering the fact that it's brass, the simple style of the incised decorations and the name Breste suggesting some sort of French connection, I think it might be a World War I "trench art" napkin ring made from an artillery shell casing.
