✅ SOLVED Old buckle? Please help ID

Found this in the area of an old Indian burial/camp site. Not sure if it is a buckle piece or a strap piece. Would appreciate any help I could get in identifying this item. Also, it was reading a 79/80 on the AT Pro scale. Could be bronze or brass? Thank you!

Haven't been able to find anything similar looking online. Looking at it more I think it may be from a strap of some sort and not a buckle. Anyone else find anything out or agree? Thanks!

I couldn't find an exact match, but I'm betting on a suspender strap buckle:

Yeah, I can see that now. Not finding much similar to it either but I'm hoping it's old.
