not if you are shooting a decent rifle with a decent brake
the 50 I shoot most of the time kicks less then a 308
and it just a Aramalite AR50

Yup, its a 50. Used to find these all over the beach in Chesapeake bay from where the army/airforce had a target range. Looks like yours may have seen some salt love too.
