Looks like a Civilian floral (or flower) stamped brass button. probably dating somewhere from the 1830s-1880s

I've been looking for days I found a 1765 sliver coin at the same site

thats a kewl find.. the button looks stamped brass.. I don't think this button would date to the 18th century but others will chime in and help. sounds like a good honey hole spot!
