✅ SOLVED Old button found today , need info , thanks !

Found this cool old button today in a school field . It was a good 7 inches deep . The back has rusted away . The front says " Oxford Shire & Buckingham Shire " . Any info would be great ! Thanks

I don't know if it's from the British regiment that goes by that name or just based on it (civilian blazer), but here's one: VINTAGE GILT METAL OXFORDSHIRE & BUCKINGHAMSHIRE BUTTON | eBay

"ox and bucks" was a British military group

If the back is rusted then I would go with being a blazer button. The one nhbenz showed us had a brass back on it.

I'd go with blazer button also....I've found quite a few military/naval types over the years with rusted out backs and it's usually a dead giveaway....still a neat find.

The same button and mines not rust in the back it’s actually in very good condition but I’m just learning buttons myself..
