Old Button

Old button found yesterday. Front reads THE R.I. COMPANY PROVIDENCE. BACK READS WATERBURY BUTTON COMPANY. I KNOW THE PATTERN # is 10196 and it seem's to be brass, maybe gold plated. can anyone tell me more about this button. thanks
