Old canteen stopper?

Hi everyone!
I found this stopper like object while detecting on lunch today. It's pretty toasted on the top where all the writing is. What I can make out is a pat date of March 27th 06. And words that say maybe say Shrader?

Looks like some type of light bulb electrical outlet or filament to me. I'd like to know as well, I found one myself years back. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting. Schrader's Son, Inc made all kinds of 'water sealing' devices/equipment, including diving equipment:



However, I think your stopper is this one, for "hot water bags":



Note that the finger grip is shown with a different design, but that wasn't part of the patent claim, so variations will exist under the same patent number. I guess the device itself could be used as a stopper for other purposes but the intention behind its use for "hot water bags" I think relates to the forerunner of what became known as the 'hot water bottle'. As well as for bedtime use, these were used under lap-blankets by passengers in carriages during cold weather and as comforters to alleviate aches, pains and other illnesses etc.

Thank you Red-Coat! That makes so much more sense and understand now that the would have changed the variety of the pulling part attachment on those.
