Got this at a garage sale. The man that sold it said it was late 1800s-early 1900s....it's in rough shape on the bottom-metal brackets had been added because the wood is splitting. I cannot find anything online about this chair!!! Can't find same arrow back, 4 box stretcher, same arms or rush seat!! Any help on approx age and worth would be great thanks!!

Hello trace,

Welcome to TNet, and thanks for showing us your chair. The form is most eye appealing.

It's a Windsor chair, with a hoop or bow back. I did not find a match either. There seem to be many, many variations. Some of them regional.

In what part of the world, did you find it? I do like the graceful arrows, and the scrolled arms.

What all manner of hardware has been screwed into the underside of the seat? There may be some date clues there...

Thanks! That pic is the closest I've seen to the chair. The hardware looks custom, on the sides they cut out parts of the brace for the legs. I can't find any markings on them. Here's a pic
