Two week ago I gathered up some of the scrap silver and took it to the buyer, because folks won't go for my 10% less then spot buy it now any more on ebay. They seem to avoid silver like the plague lately on line. I pulled this old coin silver spoon because I thought I could find a bit of history on it. I'm thinking there was a silversmith in Binghamton NY by the name of Ives Northup. I only found there are Northups in Binghamton NY. I also sent a note to the Broome County Historian in hopes they reply. If it is from that town and if they'd like to have it for their little all things Binghamton museum then I'll send it as a donation. This is something I'll do from time to time when I find somthing that ties to the history of these small town archival collections. The museums I've sent donations to have all accepted the item with a letter of gratitude sent back.

Spoon is 5-7/8" long and 14.1 grams, condition poor, but complete

Anyone have any good rereferences to the early silversmiths of America?

Thanks!
