Hi

I think it would be ok to clean it carefully with water and a soft brush.

Can you tell a bit about were it was found, that might make it easier to determin what coin it is.

It actually could look like a reckoning token from Nuremberg, Germany ! :icon_scratch:

Wenn you post a new picture, please make the light come from the side, makes it easier to see the details !

 :coffee2:

I'm pretty sure thats an archer with a spear on the front.....i have a coin that looks just like it.....about half the size of a penny. Roman is my unedjumacated guess =P

well done, any idea what year.

It is made by the master: Johann Christian Reich (1740-1814).
He made reckoning tokens in Fürth, about 1758-1800.

Where did you find the coin, Europe, the US ?
Would realy interest me !

i have been able to make out some letters on the back side, hope this helps.
:coffee2:

This is going to sound weird. But use a little milk on the coin. Or cream. Sometimes you can see more details that way. A friend of mine showed me that trick on a coin you could barely read. After using the milk. We could see all of the details.

just a thought, does anyone know what its worth. ???

In the current condition really not much ! :dontknow:
But it has a historical value !
If I were you I would keep it, not sell it !
