In California every where you go there are no trespassing signs on private property. It seems like a curse how do yu go about knocking on a door or pulling up in your car with a dog attacking you I know there are old coins and other types of relics. It scares me to death to just walk up to a door and knock

I’d get the hell out of that state. JMO.

Sorry to hear that...
If you persist you may get lucky. :dontknow:

I live in the central valley and its getting bad.

I feel the same way. Most older homes in my area are ran down and look like drug dwellings. Others I worry about dogs. And the nicer older homes have well manicured lawns and I know there is no way they are going to want me digging up thier yard. I mostly stick with public areas, abandoned lots or around sidewalks around empty lots. Ask friends and family members if you can search thier properties.

May have to think about moving... That'd be rough!

It's a sad situation,, maybe you should make friends with a Real Estate agent,,

Yup California is difficult to detect in some areas hard to find anywhere to go. I live in Central California and I'm just lucky I have 20 acres that seems to always give something up no matter how many years I've detected it. But beyond that I too hardly have anywhere to detect.

Rejection and being told no, can be intimidating to a lot of people. I'd still get out there and do some door knocking. If I'm told no, I just thank them for their time and move on to the next house.

Go to parks. Do research on your state for the best places to go. I have been going to parks since i started over 2 years ago. I have found 186 rings (9 gold, 31 Silver) silver bracelets, a nice big gold pendant, lots of silver earrings and pendants. I also have found a Morgan Dollar, a Peace Dollar, a couple silver quarters, and dimes. You'd be surprised what you can find there. The cool things about parks is once you leave they start filling back up again cause people always go. Look for the big parks like soccer fields, etc.

Try looking up owners in the phone book and calling them. Not everyone still has a landline but it's worth a try.

I’d suggest stopping by when they are in their yard. Stop by and chat over the fence. You might get some leads.
