old creek bed

yesterday while digging a drain for my house,the ditch was about 3 feet deep i dug into what appears to be a old creek bed its about 40 feet from where the creek is now,any chances might find something

Gold is where you find it. It you do look for it you will never know if it is there.....Matt

Gold is the most widely distributed of all the precious metals. I would not be surprised to hear Gold is in all Fifty States. I know there is Gold In Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont and I used to live in those states and had never heard of Gold being mentioned. Any old streambed is a good possibility to prospect in. While black sand is not a 100% guarantee of finding Gold as well, it is a most reliable indicator. In streambeds you often have to go deep, down close to bedrock to find the Gold. The older the streambed the better chance there is of finding Gold. Anywhere from Maine to Georgia in the mountains there is some Gold around, that is an absolute certainty. John B
