I think it may have a space when I zoom in making it a 9 instead of an 8. Definitely my oldest.

Anything from the 1800s is quite collectible. Seems there used to be someone on here that was quite the authority on dog tags.

You're correct, contacted him and he said if it's 1886 it would be oldest on record. If 1896 it may be a one of as some of the 1890 years have blanks.

Very nice dog tax badge. The oldest I have found is 1922 in Omaha. Good post !
