I found this cool old tag yesterday afternoon detecting and was wondering how old it might be. It was pretty caked and hard to clean up.

Scroll down the forums page to "Tokens And Tags" Click to go to that forum,then scroll down a bit to the thread "Got Old Dog Tags"? The guy who runs that thread is "oddcoins",post your pics and question there and he should be able to answer your query.He has many reference books and such for dog tags.

Due to the design and the hook on it i would say 1970. BUT i have been WRONG BEFORE LOL

Cool find - congrats !

I really like finding the old Dog Tax Tags.
The oldest I've found is 1924 but some of the members of this forum have found 1880's - 1890's tags and even older.
Most Dog Tax Tags have two numbers on them - the year it was issued and the dog owner's registration number.
Yours only has one number ? - good luck finding some info. on it - keep use posted with what you find out.

Thanks so much crashbandicoot! I'll message him about it. Thanks Gare! That's what I first thought too but everything I've found in that area is early 1900s but who knows lol. Thats soo cool E-Trac-Ohio!! This only my second one ever in this area and the first several months ago I found was 1948. I live just outside of Brooksville Fl.
