Earlier today I was hunting with my metal detector where an old barn used to be and I was finding all sorts of rusty iron pieces, but then I came across this. I was thinking that it was just some digging tool, but to be sure I was curious if anyone of you had any idea what it was.

Thanks Everyone!

Technically, I think that's a blade from an old cultivator.

That looks like it is of 2 piece construction, and made of rather light weight metal. Is that the case?

Did they make two-piece cultivator blades? That piece looks like it has a fold seam .. or at least a seam around the edge. Never seen a cultivator made like that.

Mud Hut, either my screen needs cleaning or yours does. Piece looks about 1/4" thick to me. ...Wait, maybe it's my GLASSES need cleaning! :laughing7:

From the way the OP is handling the piece, it looks rather heavy. Plus, it looks an awful lot like a bucketful that I got from an auction many years ago. Keep trying to come up with a use for them. Don't think they'd make good wind chimes, even with our winds. :tongue3:

It is quite heavy, I am very sure that it's iron. That is NOT a fold seam, it's just some rust layers on the piece.
Thanks for all the info guys!
