Old Garrett 1250 Gtax

The screen lights up for a second but won’t turn on. Changed the batteries but still isn’t working. Any suggestions?

I know this is a bit late, but the problem is probably the power on switch is stuck closed.
This model GTAx uses a 'membrane' type switch that are often poor cycle-life span and susceptible to moisture intrusion.
