I didn't find this of course, it was a gift to my mother for Christmas and she would like to know more about it. I figured some of you experts could help me or point me in the right direction.

I would like to know the type and date range, but additional information would be much appreciated.

Thanks!!

Hey, how'd you get that picture? They're going so fast, their faces are blurred, yet the sleigh is in perfect focus! Nice shot!

;D

Nah they just watched a VHS of some girl crawling out of a well and some lady standing in front of a mirror...let me know if any of you don't understand the reference ;D ;D

You would think that somewhere on it,toward the front would be a brass plaque with the Makers name on it.
Right now ,I would say, single horse cutter, very late 1800 early 1900's .......Look under the seat also for name.
I cant see the runners from your picture...runner curve can help determine maker.

Yes, a small nameplate should be on the sleigh somewhere. If not, at least a faded area may remain. The dimensions of the faded area would be somewhat useful as well. ALL clues are helpful in IDing things.

Hmmm... That's pretty deep... ;) Sorry, you lost me...

You mom's sleigh is known as a Two-Passenger Portland Cutter style - the proverbial "one horse open sleigh". I'm no expert, but I'd also say 1880 to 1900.

Sunshine and 60 here today. Not much chance to go for a ride in it...
