Tried to look at old wagons and team riggings for horses, & mules. These pieces have been found on an old wagon trail. They look similar in shape. I suspect they are parts from old wagons. Anyone care to guess?
Pics include my old Horseshoe Tree.

They may look Like Ox shoes but I'm pretty sure they're not. At least 1/2" thick and your right about having no holes... Still think off the wagon or some kind of rigging. I find lots of pieces of chain, but these have an unusual shape to them.

The wagons had hooks down the side to hold down the tarp that went over covered wagons, I think these may be the broken off hooks. Just a guess, a lot of the forged iron pieces looked similar back then.

My guess would be either broken shaft couplings or hold-back irons.
